Westpak are thrilled to have won the ‘Business & Product Innovation Award’ at the 2024 PAPA Awards. The award was given in recognition Westpak’s development of HeatWave™ – a liner insert for takeaway pizza boxes that dramatically improved heat-retention for takeaway and delivered pizzas.
The Pizza, Pasta & Italian Food Industry (PAPA) Awards recognise and celebrate the biggest achievements across this vast section of the UK foodservice industry. The event features some of the industry’s biggest names ranging from major high street restaurant chains through to supermarkets, breakout independent restaurants and inspiring chefs. 2024 marked the 35th edition of the PAPA Award, with the ceremony taking place at the prestigious Royal Lancaster London.
Westpak’s HeatWave™ range has secured a number of award successes across 2024 including being highly commended at the UK Packaging Awards and securing the highest level ‘Gold’ award as part of the Innovation Challenge at the 2024 ‘Lunch’ exhibition. Securing this latest award for ‘Business & Product Innovation’ at the PAPA Awards is an incredibly important addition Westpak’s expanding collection of accolades.
As part of the judging process for the PAPA Awards, all shortlisted entrants were required to provide detailed presentations directly to the judges, communicating the clear benefits of their entries. Westpak were able to highlight an array of HeatWave™ features including the product’s impressive and comprehensively-tested heat-retention figures, its environmental sustainability attributes as well as it’s additional ‘grease-shielding’ advantages, amongst other key benefits.
