Westpak are proud to be the official exclusive UK distributor of ILIP fresh produce punnets. These punnets are designed and manufactured at ILIP’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Italy before being supplied to UK grocery retail brands and fresh produce brands via Westpak’s highly reliable and accredited supply chain. Both Westpak are ILIP share a priority of continuous product innovation, utilising the latest material technologies and developing packaging that is underpinned by a commitment to quantifiable environmental sustainability advancements.
ILIP have over 50 years of expertise and numerous industry accreditations. From their state-of-the-art production facility in Italy, they make their own rPET for punnet production (which uses 95% previously recycled materials).
We’re able to provide extensive stock holding capability. This is spread across ILIP’s own 60,000 pallet space facility in addition to our comprehensive UK-based storage facilities that are sustainably run and supported by the latest technology.
Westpak and ILIP both share a vision for continuous product innovation. Alongside ILIP’s well-established punnet range are a number of new product addition. This includes ILIP’s ‘Air Wave’ padless punnet design – new for 2024!
Westpak are proud to be the exclusive distributor for ILIP punnets in the UK. This partnership ensures ILIP’s exceptionally designed punnet range is supplied to the UK fresh produce market with total logistical efficiency.
The ILPA Group, of which ILIP is a member has a cutting-edge recycling plant where it mechanically recycles post-consumer PET food containers and bottles to obtain secondary raw materials in the form of flakes, which it can then use in its products. The precise part of the circular economic model that ILIP operates within includes the ‘ecodesign & production’ and ‘rPET packaging production’.
By recycling pre-existing plastic content, rPET avoids the continued depletion of virgin plastic materials such as oils and petrochemicals. All ILIP punnets use 95% previously recycled materials. rPET boasts a reduced carbon footprint over virgin PET and also helps reduce the volume of PET products that are disposed of improperly by consumers. rPET is also able to be recycled again after use. RPET is ideal for sustainable fresh produce packaging as it is highly durable, water-repellent, resistant to excessive heat and chemical contamination and can be moulded into desired shapes with absolute precision.
Top-seal ILIP punnets are suitable for both top-seal and lid closures, each of which are able to provide excellent freshness and product visibility.
The ILIP punnets specified with handles are ideal for ‘pick your own’ fruit farms as well as other fresh produce retail applications.
These ILIP punnets are suitable for net and flow-wrap closures, both common for grocery retail applications, with flow-wrap offering excellent freshness.
Lids are available in a rounded ‘domed’ style is varying dimensions. Each lid provides a reliable and secure seal for accompanying punnets.
‘Clamshell’ ILIP punnets provide a truly robust seal. The hinged lid closure is securely fastened to the punnet with a series of button tabs.
Our ILIP range also offers a multitude of other designs with variations on dimensions, ridged edges, punnet base designs and other key differences.
We’re known for the extremely reliable and precise operations around our supply chain and the ILIP punnet range is no exception to this.
We’re able to offer extensive stock holding across both ILIP’s 60,000 pallet space as well as our own UK-based storage facilities. Our new UK facilities are strategically located to offer seamless logistical benefits as well as utilising the very latest stock management technology and sustainable attributes.
We’re also proud to be Grade AA certified to BRC Storage & Distribution. This certification guarantees the hygiene of our warehouse and logistics and ensures our wider supply chain adheres to strict food safety measures.
We’re also registered members of ‘Sedex’ (membership number ZC1067079), which is one of the world’s leading ethical trade service providers, working to improve working conditions in global supply chains.
